If your child will be starting reception in the new academic year then they will be in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). To ensure your child is well prepared and their development continues at a good pace we have some procedures in place.
We will ask you to fill out an ‘All about me’ form for your child so we get to know them before they first attend. We will then observe their development over time taking into account the seven different areas of learning and development. In addition to this they will be assigned a key worker of whom will ensure they settle in well and answer any questions you may have regarding their individual needs.
You can download the ‘All about me’ sheet by clicking on this link.
- Communication and language development
- Physical development
- Personal, social, and emotional development
- Literacy development
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Based off this we may make notes and discuss these with their class teacher and you as parents or carers to ensure we are supporting them effectively and consistently.
